If you are moving out of one home and into a new home then you can be sure it’s cleaning time so it’s time to get stuck in! Here are 10 amazing cleaning tips to help you get the job done as easily and efficiently as possible.

Although we might traditionally think of Spring as the main cleaning time of the year, anytime is a really great time of year to get the house and garden spruced up. Especially if you have just moved to a new home.

Here are 10 amazing cleaning tips:

  1. Do It Now

Don’t put cleaning off, do it now. Right now is the time to get involved and get everything sorted so you can enjoy time in the clean, organised house and garden!

  1. Prepare Well

Make sure you have as many labels, black bags and cleaning products as you need before you get started, you don’t want to get knee deep in cleaning only to find you need to head out and get more cleaning supplies.

  1. Do Dump the Junk

Don’t bother cleaning all that clutter you own – you’ll simply have more work to do than necessary. Instead have a good clear out and give yourself less to clean. It is extremely satisfying to declutter your living space and makes the whole place easier to keep clean. If you really can’t bear to part with some items then consider placing precious items into self-storage. They will be kept safe without you having to worry about cleaning them.

  1. Don’t Give Yourself Endless Tea Breaks

Although tea breaks are always well deserved, it is important to keep momentum up. Whether you’re cleaning your home, garage or self storage unit you must not stop in the middle of the job, it just makes you less likely to go back to it!

  1. Give Yourself Time

You need to make sure you give yourself plenty of time to get the work done. If you know you realistically don’t have time to do the whole house over a weekend, plan to do one or two rooms.

  1. Do One Room At A Time

To give yourself that burst of pride and achievement, complete one room at a time so that you can feel satisfied that you’re completing everything that needs doing properly. Don’t spread yourself thinly and try to multitask across the house.

  1. Watch Youtube

If you have certain cleaning tasks you have been putting off because you don’t know how to approach them, get on Youtube and look for tips and tricks to help you. Technology means we now have all the advice we need at our fingertips, make the most of it and do your research!

  1. Don’t Go It Alone

Don’t try to do all the jobs on your own if you don’t have to. If you have kids, try to get them involved by getting them to do fun tasks for rewards. Alternatively if you prefer to get stuck in on your own, tell your partner that all they have to do is keep the kids entertained and you’ll do the rest, sometimes just having the space to get stuck in is extremely useful.

  1. Do The Outside First

It’s not just the inside that needs doing – kerb appeal is important too. So now is the time to get the front approach looking more attractive

10. Enjoy Yourself!

Don’t forget to enjoy yourself. Cleaning isn’t fun for most of us, but you will feel much better after it is done, so pop some music on, have a little dance and get stuck in!
